Human Design is a self-knowledge system that combines astrology, the I-Ching, Kabbalah, and the chakra system. The bodygraph calculation is based on the exact date, time, and place of birth. The output provides your Type, Strategy, Authority, a description of the nine Centers, and the structure of Gates and Channels.

What are the Types in Human Design?

There are five Types in Human Design: Generators (37%), Manifesting Generators (33%), Projectors (20%), Manifestors (9%), and Reflectors (1%). Each Type has its own Strategy: Generators wait to respond, Projectors wait for an invitation, and Manifestors initiate and inform.

What is Authority in Human Design?

Authority is the internal mechanism for making correct decisions. Sacral Authority responds in the body (gut), Emotional Authority requires time for clarity, and Splenic Authority responds instantly. Making decisions through your Authority, rather than your mind, reduces errors and stress.

Is an exact birth time required for the bodygraph calculation?

It is advisable to know your exact birth time, accurate to within an hour, as it affects the definition of some Centers and your Authority. Without a birth time, you can calculate your Type and Gates by date, but the calculation will be less precise.

How does Human Design differ from astrology?

Astrology describes character and archetypes through zodiac signs and planets. Human Design uses the same astronomical data but translates it into a system of Centers, Channels, and Gates. The main focus of HD is not on predictions, but on the mechanics of decision-making and interacting with the world.

What do the Gates and Channels in the bodygraph represent?
